Sillyboy's Ghost Relatives

Athenian quartet "Sillyboy’s Ghost Relatives" is a newly formed band that shaped while following record producer Sillyboy in most of his live performances in the last 3 years.
When time seemed right, they all joined his studio to record their first full band album and let the dynamics of analogue instrumentation to do the work.
For those not familiar with, Sillyboy (born Charalampos Kourtaras) is a key figure to Greek music industry, having shaped a bass driven pop sound that is now considered a major influence on local indie culture.
He cut his teeth on major TV commercial campaigns, scoring STR8 perfume commercials in early 00’s and spent most of the decade on that side of music industry.
Being a bass player for the biggest part of his music life, his lines and his vocals became the calling card for electrofunk hipsters Expert Medicine but he soon realised he needed to express the voice within.
"Sillyboy" music project arrived early 2010 with debut album “Played” being released on small indie label Just Gazing records as 001 of their catalogue and ended up as “Album of The Year” in quite a few media outlets of Greece. "Played" launched Sillyboy’s career as a prolific studio producer, got him lots of work and attention and even to this day it is considered a classic from many music heads in his country.
Disco pop hooks like “Time Is All Mine” even catch the ear of cool executives like Zev Eisenberg of Wolf + Lamb crew in Brooklyn "I loved the Sillyboy record. I specially liked the sound of the vocals…” or Thomas Von Party from Turbo Recordings in Montreal back in the day.

However, the international release status achieved with the follow up "Nature of Things” album in 2012. It was the track "Supply Chain” that won Vinyl District's competition "TVD500" and granted Sillyboy a 7" US release with the label, getting his music aired in indie US regional radio and got the attention of three-time Grammy-nominated producer, Cheryl Pawelski.
By 2013 and even though extended touring was an option, Sillyboy preferred a studio hiatus, producing additional work for Greek artists who also reached international fame like his all time friend and collaborator Stella or remixing psych rockers Whereswilder .
Spending another 3 good years in studio, he returned with his 3rd album “Stalker” in 2015, this time for prestigious label Klik Records. The video for "Do it Again" premiered on Exclaim Magazine (Canada) while the massive feedback from live reviews established Sillyboy as a headline act. By the end of “Stalker” tour critically acclaimed act Keep Shelly In Athens offered him a job both as producer and bass player.
2018 marks the return of Athenian producer with a full band of fine musicians and friends collaborating under the moniker Sillyboy’s Ghost Relatives.
Lead single “Come Closer” reveals what could be his most complete and emotional work so far.
